The creators of “Call It Covid” and “The Myth” released a new film entitled “My Sister”. Like its predecessors, this film – this occasion poem – is a response to what is happening today.
To the women of Iran. The women of Afghanistan. The women of the United States of America. The women of the world. What of their safety? Their education? Their choice? “My Sister” amplifies how communities have mobilized, and recognizes those efforts not as isolated protests, but as a single, global revolution. This film is an effort to unify, and offer solidarity to those progressing this movement, by identifying them as we do in Asian cultures: Not as strangers, but as sisters.
